Court Blocks D.C. Vote on Medical Use of Marijuana (washingtonpost.com)


""It is too bad that a three-judge panel was able to thwart the will of tens of thousands of D.C. voters," said Steve Fox, a spokesman for the group. "It is sadder still that this ruling will cause the suffering of seriously ill patients in the city to continue.""

It would appear that the courts have hijacked democracy in the District again.

Harvard President Sees Rise in Anti-Semitism on Campus


Harvard University's president, Lawrence H. Summers, used a quiet prayer meeting on the first day of classes here this week to condemn what he termed growing anti-Semitism at Harvard and elsewhere.

But while he labeled his remarks unofficial, they are setting off ripples on this campus, where students and professors have demanded that Harvard remove all Israeli investments from its endowment.
