Marc Fleury of JBoss discusses his life as an open source developer [via TheServerSide]
"What's it like being in open source? I love it man. I just love it. It's the open source way of life. You know, I live in Atlanta, Georgia and I live in my living room. I just never leave the house. So I have this big red carpet in my living room it's colour "russeau", red you know, Italian carpet, flashy and my wife is working with me and I just work all the time there. That's "headquarters". So we got these partners coming from Boston and you know C.O.O. and C.F.O. coming down for partnership, coming to the "headquarters" of JBoss group and it's my living room and there's my dog and my cat. So I think that's a modern luxury. You know I used to work for Sun in Silicon Valley living like a rat and at then I realized gee all I need is DSL. Any place that gives me DSL I can live in. So I asked my wife where do you want to go and live in she said "back home, back where the family is". So you know I see my kid grow up and that's the red pill, that's what I call taking the red pill. You know that's our way of life. We just love independence. Husband, wife, kind of small practice consultants. That's great living. We just love it."
