I'll be moving back to a daily updating pattern this week. Things have been a little crazy, but I think I'm settling into a rhythm that matches the craziness.

As some of you might remember, I had New Beetle madness in November of 1998. I ordered a Silver New Beetle, which happens to be the most difficult to get color, and it arrived yesterday. I spent this morning doing paperwork, and drove it off the lot at noon.(Pictures to follow.)

The Iconfactory has a set of New Beetle icons for the Macintosh in their warehouse .

MacWeek has an article on Gecko, Netscapes new rendering engine. Seems like most of this isn't really news.

Userland has registered the Weblogs.com domain name . In today's Scripting News , Dave implies that they are going to do a Weblog portal. Right on.

There has been a lot of talk about personal portals on Scripting News this week too. I've been into this idea for a while, and Frontier 6's features are going to make a lot of things I had dreamed of possible. I think that it's worth mentioning that what we are talking about here is more than just a start page like Excite has given away in the past, but a customizable(I get to pick what my interface looks like) portal page which contains applications I decide upon.

My brother Chris finished his band's(The band's name is Die Laughing) latest CD this week. I've been listening to the stuff every day, and its really really good. I'm building him a site to go with the record release and an article on him in Guitar magazine.

We've been planning Geekapalooza 1.1 which is happening here in Atlanta and is sponsored by The Association of Internet Professionals , an organization of which I am a member.

I'm picking UCONN to win the tournament. I know that everyone is picking Duke, but I have been a fan of UCONN basketball since I was a kid.

The new Star Wars trailer, which you can view at Apple's site , is amazing. I don't know if I can wait until May. Worth noting is that they are taking pre-orders for the one sheet movie poster at Shop.StarWars.com

Well, I have some driving to do.  12:00:00 AM  permalink  discuss []
