[CNET News.com] Spammers target IM accounts. As new applications use the convenience of instant messaging to deliver junk messages, some people worry that chat services will see the deluge that has long flooded e-mail in-boxes. Is this as feasible as email spam? I don't think so -- unless AOL/Yahoo foolishly decide they can make money on it and decide to support it rather than squashing it like their customers want. Then again, AOL is a media company these days, and their customer-focus seems to be, ah, weak.
