Here's the scoop.
The Grand National Roadster show is in San Mateo this weekend, January
18th (my birthday) through the 20th. It is the big show, that used to
be called the Oakland Roadster Show when it was held at the Coliseum,
and before that at the Oakland Convention Center now called the Henry
Kaiser Center by Laney College. That goes way back.
Rick Perry Productions, has bought the name "Oakland Roadster Show" from the original founders of the show and is sponsoring another hot rod show that will be in April. This is the same time that Bob Dron Harley Davidson and Buell will be having their Open House, as has been the tradition for several years now.
So, there will be the "Granddaddy of all Roadster Shows" this weekend,
and by the way, the Grand National Roadster show is prohibited from
using the word "Oakland" in any advertising especially since there is
now the Oakland Roadster Show (called the Oakland Rod and Custom and
Motorcycle Show actually) since they can't use "Grand National Roadster show"
Confusing? You bet, but I hope that helps.
