Microsoft: He who whines loudest... The past couple days have been filled with talk about Microsoft letting it be known that it's not happy with Apple. In articles appearing in MacUserUK, and The Wall Street Journal. Kevin Browne, the head of Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit (MBU), provides further details on MS's unhappiness over Office v.X sales. It appears that Office 2001 is still outselling v.X, and this does not sit well with MS. <start rant> What a bunch of morons. What do they really expect? They release a version that is limited to 10.1+ only, and expect that it's going to outsell the older version -- one that works with millions of Macs released over the past 7 years? DOH! Hello....is anyone awake in the MBU. Of course the fact that MS screws people out of $269 to upgrade, and $445 to buy a new copy of Office v.X has nothing to do with the slow sales (prices: macmall.com). Perhaps the short timespan between major updates had something to do with it? Someone needs to slap some sense into Microsoft. It would be as if they released Office XP to only run on XP...of course sales would be lower...DUH! <end rant> I hope that clears up any confusion...mj 1:40:34 PM
