Protect dogs, not children?
When it comes to who should be shielded from riding in the backs of pickup trucks, it's pooches over people at the Arizona Legislature.
Lawmakers have for years rebuffed attempts to outlaw the carrying of children in the beds of pickups. Now they want to fine motorists who put dogs there.
"Maybe if we can get the animals first, then we can get the children," said Rep. Linda Binder, R-Lake Havasu City and sponsor of House Bill 2195. [Arizona Republic]
