The first rule of Anonymity Club...

This piece in the New York Times gets me thinking about how popular anonymity clubs are going to be real soon now.  A group of people pool their cash, and one goes out and buys everything they need for the month.  That one guys profile is going to look pretty weird after half a year....everyone else will eventually trip the trigger value set for value added paramedic services to see if death might be why they are simply not buying anything.

Methinks the main reason privacy concerns don't bother Larry is that money can buy privacy.

The poor have always been the subject of scrutiny, often with the aim to determine what can be done to help them, often to keep prevent them from taking stuff.

The wealthy have always used their wealth to escape scrutiny, except for the pathological egoists (rock stars, politicians and increasingly the icons of the business community who would like to be rock stars and politicians, but are neither.)
