Morning by Morning Devotional:
"For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ." -- 2 Corinthians 1:5
There is a blessed proportion. The Ruler of Providence bears a pair of scales--in this side He puts His people's trials, and in that He puts their consolations. When the scale of trial is nearly empty, you will always find the scale of consolation in nearly the same condition; and when the scale of trials is full, you will find the scale of consolation just as heavy. -- C. H. Spurgeon

Memory verse: Isaiah 52:7

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Daily Devotional:
They said to Moses, 'You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die' ` -- Exodus 20:19
We show how little love we have for God by preferring to listen to His servants rather than to Him. We like to listen to personal testimonies, but we don't want God Himself to speak to us. Why are we so terrified for God to speak to us? It is because we know that when God speaks we must either do what He asks or tell Him we will not obey. -- Oswald Chambers
