Hey...I'm all for it.

>>> I logged in this morning to find an email from Andrew, one of the developers for Newzcrawler. Seems he read my little write up and wanted me to send him some examples of the problem I am having with permalinks so that he could look into providing a fix. That is incredibly cool, software developers who not only provide freeware but are willing to work at making it an even better user experience have my utmost respect, I gotta say. In some cases they even wind up getting some of my money because I find their stuff so useful!
It amazes me when something I write gets the attention of cool people like that! <<<
Absolutely! That's part of the power of a 'commnuity' like that created by weblogs - a feedback mechanism that can keep us in the check, but at the same time also propels us forward. And Newzcralwer is truly a product with some real potential.
News Is Free is a powerful news aggregrator / weblog feed tool that is completely web based. It allows for posting and cross-posting items of interest to any Blogger API compliant content system. You can create your own MyMSN-like pages to organize your feeds and/or track simply changes to those feeds. Subscribe to the feeds if you have your own headline viewer, although I don't think Newzcrawler is supported though. Fresh content can also be email to you if you desire. Ohh, almost forgot, it's FREE as well.
Mike Krus, one of those behind the service is also very responsive to users troubles, needs, and wants. I'm sure I left some features out of this rave. If I did, suffice it to say that I highly recommend this service in all it's gore and glory.
"A few years ago NOVA sent a group to the island to investigate how the statues might have been transported and set up."
I watched an airing of this very program last night. Totally fascinating look at all the ways modern scientist/engineers think that the stones may have been moved and placed. So refreshing to see these marvels examined without some kind of put-there-by-spacemen? spin.
Note to self: Per Doug Miller's discussion and descriptions (good stuff Doug) of Brin's book Earth add it to my To-Read reading list.
