...useless miscellany
(a collection of thoughts and opinions to satisfy my introspective musings)

I really like the site index page at jenett webthings.  One of these days I might get busy and create something similar.  Joe has such a simple looking, but yet extremely usable site.

Syndic8.com

"Pinch me, I'm dreaming. Syndic8 has just released a few directories for RSS feeds. You can now find feeds using Headline Viewer Categories, ODP categories, NewsisFree Categories, and NewsisFree Assignment of ODP categories.
I have been waiting for something like this for quite a while. If you haven't gotten into RSS feeds yet, what are you waiting for. Not only does it save time, but they are so freakin' easy to use. I am sure Jenny is thrilled by this news. (from Research Buzz

Looks like Steven @ Library Stuff has discovered the power and simplicity of syndication.  Personally, I think this recent flurry of syndication activity is truly just the beginings of something much more powerful yet to come.

Microcontent is a bottom-up approach to dealing with the information glut we all face to day.   Will we as Business 2.0 leads in the article the Blog Nation become "...the blinking neurons of an emerging, chatterbox superbrain?"  Sure - You bet.   Singularity.  It's real.  Read Out Of Control by Kevin Kelly and you'll see it.

"...Or are these proliferating online diaries merely podiums for bush-league blowhards? Truth be told, they're a bit of both..."  Syndication fuels this proliferation.  *We* choose which 'blowhards' we wish to listen to.  Which noise we choose to ignore.   The feedback loops connected and disconnected through the ease of syndication.

Syndic8.com has taken a step forward to bring some order to the chaotic proliferation of syndicated feeds in DMOZ like fashion.  A win for us all in this age of information overload.  I wish them the best of luck.
