| Security Weblog Single AAA platform? IBM has announced that its Tivoli Access Manager (formerly known as SecureWay Policy Director and DASCOM IntraVerse) will support WS-Security sometimes next year. I guess this will be becoming more and more common because it does make sense to have a single AAA management platform for as many types of transactions as possible. In fact during the last project I was looking at how to using a reverse proxy (meant primarily for web security) for authentication and authorisation of B2B XML messages. 8:21:51 PMRecovering from an identity and access management project I was working on for last two and half months gives me some space for reflection. Intersting thing to notice how things change. Not so long ago everybody was ridiculing Microsoft Passport, extranet access management was the hot thing and hardware security was about smartcards. Today Microsoft is one of the leaders in federated security, TCPA is the topic du jour at UKcrypto and Cypherpunks and access management vendors are hasting to take a facelift to become identity management providers and even smartcard vendors have cought the buzz. Will Identity slowly becomes mainstream. Perhaps it's time to take a contrarian view to maintain the dialogue flowing. 8:04:36 PM
