Music continues

Ramones

"Everything you need to
know about rock 'n' roll is contained in the 2:42 entirety of 'Sheena Is a Punk
Rocker' by the Ramones."

Wilco:

"While most bands are eager to sign with a major label, in an interview with Greg Kot, Tweedy described Wilco's break in almost euphoric terms: "It feels like Christmas. I don't feel victimized, I feel liberated".

This is some kind of site that blocks you from pasting or opening in a new frame using the right click menu ("sorry") but you can Ctrl-C or use the edit menu all you want.  And view source:

<!-- Begin

function right(e) {

if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' &&

(e.which == 3 || e.which == 2))

return false;

else if (navigator.appName == 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' &&

(event.button == 2 || event.button == 3)) {

alert("sorry.");

return false;

}

return true;

}

Anyway "Ashes of American Flags" is an awesome song, almost eerily prescient about Sept. 11. And Opera has a right-click menu. Stupid humans!

NYT (registration required): A huge conspiracy. Basically big record execs said that Napster was morally wrong because the artists didn't get paid. Then they set up their own services where the artists didn't get paid. As long as the lawyers do, that's fine.

Dave Winer talks about BOGU (Bend Over Grease Up) as an appropriate strategy for business owners. But if the entire system is built around legalized procurement, isn't it better for one whore to step away. Maybe others will follow.

Of course we probably need to Kill all the Lawyers. (trivia - what does F. Ross Johnson have in common with me? - we both attended U of M).

A Doctor whining. Nothing new there, but "He said he's angry, but at the province and not the hospital or health authority." Of course not, the hospital or health authority never do any wrong. Just impoverish the rest of us.

NYT (Registration required): US companies moving to Bermuda to avoid taxes (and they probably don't have the same pesky accounting standards. Tyco and Global Crossing are already there). I think any company moving to Bermuda should make the short-sellers alert list.
