This is the best explanation of Google Instant Messaging I could come up with:

"How does it work? Simply encode your message into a Google search string, making sure to include some reference that will guarantee that your friends weblog rises to something approximating the surface, and then click on your weblogging friend's webpage in the results page. Bammo! Instant message -- well instant if your friend is reading the referrers at the time."[Burningbird]

Two Google-related things I learned this week: googlewacked and Google Instant Messaging.

I said in an earlier post that I wasn't honest enough but that's crap. The problem isn't honesty it's passion. I just don't have anything worthwhile to say. And I know it. But I want to get my thoughts down her anyway. It might be interesting to come back to some year.

I'm so stupid, I forgot this is HTML, after all. That could have been Six Feet Under.

There are really plenty of things to write about, but _Six Feet Under_ is about to come on and I just have no time.

Actually, I've got to admit that www.whitehouse.gov is looking pretty good these days.

comment ()  3:02:21 PM  #

It actually took me a few seconds to realize that www.whitehouse.org is not www.whitehouse.gov. At first I thought it was quite a well done site with lots of good-looking info.

"Why Blog? That's something I've been thinking about lately.  I'm certainly not doing it for the ego stroke - a hot day is when 1 person hits my referer log.  I don't feel the need to critique news or other blogs.  Why bother then?  It's pedestrian - it is acting as a reminder of what I found interesting.  I don't bookmark like I probably should and am constantly wondering, "What site was that where I read X?"  Well, now I have a way of tracking it.  That's a good enough reason for me." [Bill Simoni's Radio Weblog]: Yep. that pretty much sums it up.

"AppleScript is a way cool technology. Speaking as a NeXT bigot, I'd have to say that AppleScript is by far the coolest software technology that NeXT acquired when they sneakily executed their buyout of Apple for negative $400 million. :-)"[It's not About the OS Anymore in The Motley Fool].

Episode II Gets Rave Review [Slashdot]: When I first heard the title I thought it was a joke. But they are seriously going to call the movie that.

comment ()  11:13:41 AM  #

I think the problem with my weblog is that is that I am not honest. I'm just writing stuff that I think I should write. When I start writing what I *want* to write, then it will be interesting.

My friends and I once wrote a little MUDD that only we played. We had a Duck, that would follow you around, and a Duck Hunter, that followed the Duck around. What's funny is the Duck Hunter was a subclass of the Duck :)

"All I have to do is click post & publish and walk away before the Aggregator refreshes. Wish me luck!"[Deadly Bloody Serious Radio]: God I know that feeling. That's me every night since Radio shipped!

MusicMatch launches music service for Macs [MacNN]: The price is right, but do I want to stream the music or possess the music?

I think I may have finally found a good FTP client for Mac OS X
