My favorite line from South Park is said by Mr. Garrison to Kenny G: "You kiss just like my dad!"

Qualcomm Shares Drop; C.F.O. Defends Accounting. Qualcomm defended its accounting practices after its shares fell to a 2-1/2-year low following a report that raised concerns about the firm's accounting practices. [The New York Times: Technology]

I asked my wife where the coffee grinder is. She told me it was in hell.

Every time I watch ER I am reminded that our bodies are machines that will break down. It's hard to think about it like that. But it is true.

Last night was ER night. A very good episode. One sub-plot has Dr. Green's and Dr. Corday's baby recovering from an overdose of X. It was handled well, I suppose. But the problem I have with these kinds of stories is that they are incestuous. ER is about, well, the ER. So most, if not all, of the stories involve medical problems with patients. When you make the main characters, who are doctors, also the patients, it gets a little screwy. Consider all the trouble Dr. Green has had. He's been beat up, had a brain tumor, had side-effects from the brain tumor, had his baby overdose on X, and now, it looks like he is going to die from the brain tumor (he is leaving the show, after all). Most people don't have that much bad stuff happen to them in such a short time (thank god).

Very funny!

Instead of going to a tea house we decided to have sushi. And it was so delicious. We ate in silence, with only occasional sighs of pleasure.

I finally ate Uni (sea urchin). It was yummy with a very complex taste. I should have tried it much sooner. It just looks like something I wouldn't like.

Thinking about having tea at a tea room. But the tea room we had picked out has their phone disconnected. Is that a bad sign?

A bunch of fixes in upstreaming released on Wednesday.  [Scripting News]

This includes being able to explicitly specify passive FTP. Cool. What about port. Can I just tack that on to the end of the URL with the colon notation? I hope so.

I wonder if the "cloud" at UserLand stores its data compressed. If not, that would be a cool way to increase storage without buying more hard drives.
