How to give a cat a pill

But where's the part about blowing in the cat's nose. We had to give our cat Baba (see the link over there to the left) a lot of pills. Actually, my wife did most of the giving. She's a give-the-cat-a-pill genius. She always ends with blowing in the cat's nose. It seems to work. If you can get that far.

I just edited my first post

I noticed that in the Burningbird on Gay Rights post I had accidently written Burning instead of Burningbird (sorry about that Burningbird). I was just about to go to my desktop webpage when I realized I could edit the post using Radio Poster. And it worked. Cool.

We must all read the postings at Wealth Bondage.

I'll never be finished...

I keep thinking of new things to do to Radio Poster. The problem now is that I'd really like it to save a post automaticallly after it has sent it. But that should be a pref. Not everybody would like that. But I have no global prefs yet. So to do just this one pref would mean doing prefs in general. That's more work :) I think it'll have to wait until version 1.1 or I won't ever get this puppy out the door.

Burningbird on Gay Rights

Gay rights: I'm straight. I have gay and straight friends. I don't understand homophobia. And the government and everyone's neighbor does NOT have to be involved with how a person practices their own form of sexuality as long as the practice is between consenting adults. And if two people want to get married, let them. End of story.

I couldn't agree more. I thought marriage was a contract. Seems like you could come up with many variations on that contract. What would be wrong with that? Hmm. What about marriages with more than two people. Legally, what would be wrong with that?

post 1000

I'm wasting this post to say that this is my 1000th post. So my 1000th post is a post about nothing Woohoo :)

How do I know that. Because Radio sends back the post number when you use the Meta Weblog API, which is what I'm using to post with Radio Poster. So I know the post number of every post I make.

perl apocalypse

Have you been following Larry Wall's Perl Apocalypses? They are really quite interesting. Perl is going to change dramatically. And the greatest change may be that it will sit on top of Parrot. So will Python. I think I like Python better than Perl. But they are both important languages.

passports

I applied for passports today. For the kids and for me. That's the first step on the path to going to Japan in June. Can't leave the country without passports :)

a new window for every post

But now you need to open up a new window for every new post. Before I was doing all of my posting from one window. I'd just clear it out for the next post. But the model has changed. A window is one post. When it is sent it gets assigned a message number and any subsequent posts edit the same message on the server.

Radio Poster is just about ready

I think Radio Poster is just about feature complete, as they say. I need to tweak a few things and get the icons right, and then I think I'll be ready to release it. I think I'm still struggling with the best way to use it, but I'm learning.
