feeling empty
For months I've been feeling really empty. Perhaps this is what a mid-life crisis is like? I doubt it. I have always had a hard time suspending my disbelief in the importance of life. The theists among you will certainly say, at this point, that the problem is a lack of god in my life. I doubt that as well. If I did believe in god and heaven I think the problem might even be worse. Not only is life meaningless, but it goes on forever. Yeah. I'd have heaven to look forward to. Or maybe not. Hmm. Anyway, I don't believe that's the problem. But I am beginning to think I may be on the verge of some kind of epiphany. Interesting that I've put that in religious terms. I guess just a Freudian slip :) Anyway, I let you know if one comes to me.

reinforcements
I tried to go it alone with just the kids and me but I found I couldn't quite pull it off. I found out just how much we all depend on my wife and now that she's not here it's really tough. I can't help but wonder if she would need me as much as I need her. Anyway (and this was actually her idea), I'm calling for reinforcements. My mom, that is :). She's coming in tomorrow. We go pick her up at the airport. The kids are really excited.

Original Pancake House
I felt so much better today that I took the kids to the Original Pancake House. I pigged out on a sausage-and-cheese omlette and pancakes smothered in syrup. I'm stuffed. It feels good to feel good.

Radio Poster ideas
I've got some ideas for the next version of Radio Poster. I'd like to have a facility for getting all the posts off of the server. I think the Meta Weblog API could be a lot better about letting me do that, but it has the getPost method, which is enough to make it happen. I think, eventually, I'd also like to keep a database of all messages. That way you wouldn't have to save them. They'd automatically save themselves in the database. It'd kinda be like email. And support for Blogger and MovableType. Actually, I think I already support MovableType. The Meta Weblog API is basically an extension of the Blogger API and MovableType supports the Blogger API. I thnk there's just one detail about the path you have to specify. RP currently defaults to '/RPC2', as that is what Radio likes. But MT has a different path, I believe. Also, MT doesn't support categories. MT has categories, but there isn't anything in the basic Blogger API that supports posting to them. That's one of the things that the Meta Weblog API adds.

feeling better
I'm feeling much better. I've just about got Radio Poster ready to go. Actually, all the files are already on the server. I just have to announce. But I was still a little feverish last night when I whipped off the docs and so I think one more spin through them might be wise.
