Radio Poster Todo

Things to do in Radio Poster:

1. implement a message database so all messages are in one place
2. WYSIWYG previewing
3. WYSIWYG composing
4. query the server for the category list
5. fetch all posts in a range (download to files or to the database)
6. saving multiple weblog configurations
7. MovableType and Blogger support (MT is easy, I need an app key for Blogger)

homework

My daughter has a ton of homework. She was sick for pretty much all of last week. Now she's got all of this back work she has to do. She's sitting here next to me working on it right now. She has finished her math and now she is working on science.

on to Lua?

So if I'm setting Pamela aside for the time being, I guess I should move on to working on my Lua plug-in and then to working on Stella. Stella definitely needs an update. I think I'd really like to use the REALbasic EditField. I'll lose the syntax hiliting for the time being, but I bet I could add that back in at a later date. REALbasic's EditField does have one problem. It is slow. It is supposed to be faster in 4.5, though. But by using REALbasic's EditField Stella will be easier to maintain and build for mulitple platforms.

Instant Outlining

Pamela (my instant outline client) pretty much does what I want it to do. It goes out and gets somebody's outline and displays it as a hierarchical list. There's plenty more I could do, but I know that it won't scale. If I started putting a bunch of people in one place it would take forever to update the whole thing. It's kind of a shame, but as it stands right now I just don't see much point in working any more on Pamela. For it to work, there would have to be a way for an instant outline to be separated into just the new stuff and archive. Then I could get just the new stuff and only get the archive on demand.

XEALbc

Another fine utility from The La Jolla Underground: XEALbc. One of the best things on UNIX is bc, a command-line calculator. XEALbc uses the REALbasic Shell class to put a UI on bc.

s l a m

s l a m is a really good looking Radio site. Good content, as well. Of course, I found it on the Scripting News site. I guess I should give them an attribution for it :)

headspin's weblog

I see I am not the only one who is writing a column for REALbasic Developer. Didier (the author of that weblog, if you haven't clicked on the link yet) has been an often contributor to the RB mailing list. He's also the one who has been gently pushing me to get off my lazy butt and get to work on my Lua stuff. I got distracted yesterday, as usual, and worked on Pamela instead of Lua. Today, of course, I have to do real work.

By the way, it looks like Didier has rolled his own weblog. Pretty cool.
