new REALbasic app I'm working on a new REALbasic app that I'm going to release under The La Jolla Underground. I'm tentatively calling it ResPloder. Basically it takes a file and explodes it into a folder. The data fork becomes a file and the resource fork becomes folders. Each type is a folder and inside each resource is a file. I'm not sure if anybody would find such an app useful but it's kinda fun to write. I've used it myself to get at the pictures in a resource file so's I can edit them in another application. That's the kind of thing I think you might want to use ResPloder for. Oh, and you can implode as well as explode. So a folder that is an exploded file and be imploded back to a file. And it's only another few weeks until the Season Two DVD is released. Can't wait--I'll finally have seen all of the episodes once I have that in hand. Or at least, in DVD player. [yourish.com] I'm a big fan of Buffy myself. But I never seem to catch an episode. It is such a treat when I do. comment ()  1:20:02 PM  #   Mozilla 1.0 I'm trying out Mozilla, the open-source web browser based that's based on the same code that makes up Netscape's browser. I believe the display engine is the same: Gecko. I think the last time I ran it on my Mac OS X machine it actually locked up the machine, which is quite a trick on Mac OS X (at least for me). I have to do this every now and then to get all my unpublished Radio posts published to my site at UserLand. That's 'cause there's a bug in Radio that prevents that from happening correctly when you post with the MetaWeblog API or the Blogger API. Dave says they are looking into fixing it. But I'm not sure why it should be a big deal. Glancing through the Radio code it seems to me that it could be fixed with about one judicious line of code. I could probably fix it myself. But I want UserLand to fix it so that everybody's Radio get's the fix. I'll keep my copy of Radio broken just like everybody else. In the meantime I'm really worried about all the people that might be using Radio Poster. comment ()  10:17:23 AM  #   bike to work I biked to work. Finally. After about three weeks of not biking. Things might be getting back to something like normal. My wife is back from Japan. The kids are back in school. I'm back at work (almost :) ). The sun is shining. The surf is pounding. Microsoft just barely squeeks by on their revenue (they were on the low end of the estimates range) and their stock goes up. Go figure. And you know that Microsoft plays all kinds of games just to get their revenue numbers where they are. I guess Apple plays that game as well. comment ()  7:30:36 AM  #
