Wow

I've been working on the main template for my new weblog and it's all done, pretty much, with a style sheet. So for giggles I rebuilt all of my pages and took a look. The main page looked about right. So I thought, just for grins, I'd visit an archive. And it looked in-theme, so to speak. How could that be. I hadn't even worked on the template that spits out the archive yet. So I took a look at the template is the simplest thing in the world. There isn't much to it. All the magic is in the style sheet. The same style sheet that is used for the main index. So all the pages that use the style sheet get the new look. For free. Very cool. Of course, I need to fix my comments window so that it has the correct look. But that's in the style sheet as well.

MT Templates, part 2

After calming down a bit, I decided to start over with my attempts to get MT templates that look like my current weblog. This time I decided to work with MT, rather than against it. I made small tweaks to the style sheet and low-and-behold, I'm beginning to recreate the look. I've got a ways to go, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. You can check out the results here. But realize I don't yet have any content in it. I need to get all of my posts from Radio and put them in MT. My plan is to add support for blogger.getPost to Radio Poster and then suck up all of my posts into files. From there I can reformat them into what MT wants for import.

Somehow Jonathon Delacour got all of his Radio posts into MT and I really wish I knew how he did it.

weblog up and down

It looks like UserLand's servers are really going up and down a lot these days. There's a discussion going on on Burningbird's site about the situation. This makes me want to move as quickly as possible to my own server. I'm in the process of seeing what would be involved.

MT Templates

Last night I tried to put together some Movable Type templates that would look like my current weblog. I just don't have the patience for it. I'm sure if I stuck with it I can pull it off eventually. Instead I think I'm just going to tweak the default template a bit. And maybe later I'll tweak it some more. Eventually I'll have change it enough that it will look the way I want.

BMI

I just calculated my BMI (Body Mass Index) at healthchecksystems.com and it told my this:

A BMI value of less than 18 may be unhealthy. You may want to visit your doctor. A BMI of 18-19 is optimal.

I've never had anybody tell me I'm too thin :)
