I've been thinking of building some simple REALbasic apps and writing a tutorial about them to put here. The first one I think I might do is ResPloder. I've already written part of it: ResExploder. It takes a file and explodes it's resource fork into a folder. All the types are folders also, and each resource is a separate file. You'd think such a thing woudldn't be useful. But sometimes you really want to get at the individual resources and having them as files is very helpful. It turns out to be trivial to write such a thing in REALbasic. I think I actually did it twice. I couldn't find my code for the first version so I just wrote it again. Takes about 30 minutes. comment ()  10:51:05 PM  #   I've been hunkered down working on my first REALbasic Developer article. I'm terrified of making a mistake that will be in print forever. Hmm. Everything I write here is in print forever. I've made lots of mistakes here. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it so much :) Anyway, I love REALbasic, but there there are a million little UI nits that I always want to fixup. But if I do that for the app I'm writing about, it'll be too complicated to explain. So I've decided to live with some little UI things I don't like in order to keep things simple.
