Microsoft's strategy for web services - More "standard, tailored and customized" crap from Microsoft. Yada yada yada. The only really interesting thing about this (to me) this new programming language for business process programmng - BPEL4WS.

"The business process is becoming the new unit of work," Fitzgerald said, pointing to the forthcoming BPEL4WS, a programming language that can be used to describe business processes, as one example.

Brian Buck pointed out the page on Google for advanced operators.  I don't know when and how I'd use them but it is pretty cool. The more I hear about Google as a company, the more I think they're as exciting as Microsoft was back in the 80s and early 90s. Check out Google Labs.
