  • The New Yorker: Seymour M. Hersch, "The Getaway"

old Mr. Hersch's story is old news baked twice with some history and common geopolitcal opinion thrown in -- if ya read your weblogs

they all rip off DEBKA all the time now

    nice font though

    and still worth reading

man the New Yorker did an fantastic job bringing their print world to the web -- we say again

  • Congo Gas Station Blast Kills Dozens. Lava flows from a volcanic eruption ignited a gas station on Monday, killing between 30 and 50 people trying to siphon fuel from the elevated tanks, witnesses said. [NY Times]

    bfd - albeit tragic

    IT'S THE 600,000+ REFUGEES STUPID!

you know another reason this story gets shoddy coverage? it's because the people are black

on MLK day no less -- irony this pronouced is a phone call from Nature if we ever heard one

  • 5 days now and jack-diddly from the US Government

do we really still live here? sometimes we think about packing light with a few keepsakes -- and taking the wife and kids and moving to Holland or Benares and continuing from there

    somewhere more civilized than this

it's really gone downhill in the US in the last 15 years in many many respects

there's lots of good -- we're talking overall picture here Poindexter

the youth won't put up with this -- you watch -- each generation is wiser and notices the hypocrisy more accutely -- generation after generation adults never get this -- unless they are lucky and stay young and open-minded and still dream of peace for all mankind

unfortunately it's also more of a police state here now too -- it's going to get ugly before it gets better

we need courageous leaders like Dr. King and Ghandi were -- we need big pillars of truth and principle -- we need stellar examples of fairness and equity and compassion and selflessness

the leaders the world has now now are all businessmen -- especially the politicians and religious ones

    it's the neckties and collars

they cut off all the circulation between the heart and mind

  • The Federalist Papers

  • Thomas Jefferson Papers
