one thing we've tried to do for 10+ plus years on any Mac we ever owned is to be borg app free -- we'll see how long we able to hold out this time
we've yet to succeed
right now we have the G4 Cube on OS X 10.1.5 and we're living in Mozilla, Mail, Radio, Instant Messanger, ThinkFree Office, iTunes, Quicktime, LimeWire, TextEdit and Stickies land -- with GraphicConverter once in a while -- and Sound Studio and Final Cut Pro for the a/dv stuff
IE was the last to go

Mom gets back tonight -- the kids are alive and well, the kitchen is clean, the laundry is done, the plants have been watered regularly -- if we can get out to Trader Joe's and get some groceries we'll be set
