Apple has released a new version of Software Update that fixes the SU vulnerability that, as usual, the press has been needlessly freaking out about over the last few days (the existing vulnerability was real, but not nearly as big of a deal as the press wanted you to believe).
The new Software Update nicely addresses the security issue through the use of signed packages and other features. However, it also has some neat new features not related to security.
Most notably, you can now update your system from the command line. See /usr/sbin/softwareupdate and the associated softwareupdate man page.
