Nerdbooks Rocks
Nerdbooks is a great bookstore near Sacramento, California. It's large, well-lit, comfortable (couches and drinks!), and the staff is friendly and smart. I stumbled across it when I was visiting Roseville for a dog show.
Their website is very good, a tech-only version of Amazon, and their prices are as good (or better) then you'll find elsewhere. One of the best things is that they're not a giant chain -- one storefront and the website. That's it. You're dealing with real people. All my mail-order tech books purchases are with them from now one. Check 'em out. I get nothing out of it, but I think you'll dig 'em.
