Home Depot says: Watch our thieving customers

I know that stores have to be on the lookout for shoplifters, and they have to educate and remind their employees, but I think Home Depot has made a faux paus.

A bright orange frame around the monitor screen of every cash register reads:

Shrink Awareness. Remember who your teammates are! "Bob" -- Bottom of Basket "Lisa" -- Look InSide All "Mitch" -- Merchandise In Customers Hands

Sheesh. Why don't they put up a big sign that says "Make our customers feel like criminals!" This kind of stuff is necessary, but it is best confined to the back room, eh? Shoving it right in the face of every customer is insulting, at best.
