Not just Maxtor, rebates in general suck Aha, check out this timely article from the WSJ online. It's not that I'm cursed, its that companies make their prices seem lower by offering hard to get rebates. Egads, where is the FTC on this issue? (Oh yeah, the republicrats are in charge now, nevermind.) 4:17:31 PM    comment [] Maxtor Rebate Ripoff Aaargh. I just got notified that a $20 hard drive rebate I recently sent in was rejected because the postmark was past the due date. What a crock. I checked it, filled out the form, and mailed it all on the same day. More than a week before the ending date. But what recourse do I have? They say it was wrong, which just saved them twenty bucks, and I can't prove otherwise. I feel ripped off and powerless. Bastards. Beware, Maxtor customers! 11:15:50 AM    comment []
