Santa Cruz is not dog friendly
It was a beautiful weekend in California, the kind of day where you
just have to get outdoors. We chose to head to Santa Cruz, for a day of
site-seeing, shopping, and general lounging.
But, it wasn't meant to be. I knew that dogs were not allowed at the
Boardwalk, but I was shocked to discover that dogs aren't allowed
anywhere downtown. Every 50 feet or so a sign proclaims "No
Skateboarding, No Alcohol, No Dogs" and a few other prohibitions I
don't recall.
So, Santa Cruz, another coastal city got our
disposable income this fine sunny Saturday. Too bad for your tax
coffers, but any city that prohibits leashed dogs on public streets
just isn't the type of place that gets my patronage.
