I found on the web that I can option-control-delete to get out of a session. That and the fact that the mouse actually moves proves I'm running XFree86. So far so good

Now, if I can just get a window manager to display properly... right now it won't properly redraw... it looks like output from the console is being drawn right over my desktop area... arrkkkkggggg
