Thanks to Nicholas Riley, I was reminded about PyCon DC, scheduled for March 24th through March 26.

I just signed myself up (and was able to sign up in time to get an Early Bird Registration). So it's official - I'm going to DC!

Given the amount of Python based projects I'll be doing over the next several months, it wouldn't hurt to keep up with the state of the art. Given that it's my favorite scripting language certainly helps too.

Brent Simmons has created a Mac Software Business mailing list on Yahoo Groups.

The description: “This group is for small, independent Macintosh developers who want to talk with other developers about the business of Mac development. Questions on pricing, packaging, advertising, e-commerce providers, and so on are on-topic. Note that this list isn’t a vehicle for promotion: announcements and press releases are off-topic.”

The members of the group include some heavy hitters in the Mac Software industry, in addition to Brent: Rainer Brockerhoff, Michael Tsai, along with a cast of additional others.

Dave Winer's latest DaveNet ('Is CBS Lying') points to this ad at moveon.org. I've liked to a Windows Media format file, so you Mac users might want to download VLC, which plays Windows Media video files (it worked for me).

I like this commercial. It gets its point out simply, and without a lot of flashy graphics - just 5 or 6 5 second clips, some music, and a question at the end. Simple. No fuss.
