God, it's fun running into old friends randomly.  I checked out my Radio News aggregator and there's something on Hack the Planet mentioning my old GFE buddy Micah.  That's fun.

Never mind.  Themes are harder than I thought.  Also, many of the widgets in Radio seem to have CSS classes coded in them, which makes things a little more complicated than I thought it would be.  That's okay though, it made for a fun afternoon.  I'll keep pluggin' on it and try again sometime soon.

Okay, here comes a UI switch.  This may destroy everything, but I can hope.

I'm IM'ing with my weeest brother about blogging.  I find myself telling him how awesome Radio is.  I think I'm addicted, but I don't want to make him spend $40.  He's only in High School, and funds are scarce.  Also, he'll be going to college next year, and I'd like to find out how to migrate a radio account.  I'm sure it's possible.

I'm thinking about sending him to Blogger, but I don't know anything about it.  I'd rather he used UserLand software, because I know it, because I love Dave, and because this software kicks ass.

I'm working on a new look and feel for my blog.  Everything I come up with seems to be a variant on the radio theme.  That radiating ball is just gorgeous.  So I'm looking around at other blogs for some good designs.  There are a few things I'm noticing.

First off, there are a lot of "Here's a test post to radio!" entries on weblogs.com.  Congrats to the folks at Userland on a fantastic product.  This thing is really amazing, and if there's justice in the world, the "founders of the feast" will make a mint.

Secondly, there are an awful lot of beautiful blogs out there.  Some examples: Sylloge, Moving Objects, LatentLogic, and Absolute Blog.

My other New Year's resolutions can be found here, on my Manila weblog.  I'd really like to import it into Radio.

One of the factors as to whether or not I'll be blogging more has to do with resolution about making 5 new friends.  I'm trying to get out more and sit at my computer less.  Radio's an incredible computer-based toy that I can see myself getting really attached to.

That having been said, I could try to limit the ammount of time I spend blogging.  Maybe that's a good middle ground.  It's been a good social week.  Thursday night there was a big birthday party that we went to, and had a nice time.  Last night we went to a surprise birthday party for my boss.  Tonight we had company for a mini Buffy fest.  Next weekend we're going on a ski retreat with Shannon's business fraternity.  I've missed being social.  It's pretty great.

I've got two new New Year's resolutions.

  1. Blog more
  2. Use more links.  More blog, less journal.

Radio might just be a big part of these.  It's way worth the $40, I just have to decide whether or not I'm fully dedicated to blogging.
