Ever notice how you don't realize how much stuff you have to have until you're wandering through a department store?  Shannon and I just went to Target to add things to our registry and walked out with $50 worth of stuff we had to have.

Why are geeks so unhealthy?. "When you think of a technology geek, how do you picture him or her? For me, it's one of two extremes: gangly and undernourished, or obese and unkempt. My bias is justified, though, when I see pictures of some of the more famous geeks..." [kuro5hin.org]

The Onion: Judge Orders God to Break UP into Smaller Dieties. (via Dan Gillmor)

Last night was awful.  Due to the remaining ice from the ice storm on Thursday, 150,000 homes were without power, including Shannon's dorm.  So she spent the afternoon in a dark, chilly room.

Then we went out for dinner with a friend.  We went to Chilli's and then went to see Gossford Park.  It was very stuffy and British, but we all found it pretty entertaining.

On the way to dinner we got caught in an awful traffic jam because all of the traffic lights on a major stretch of road were about power.  When I decided to turn around and take another route, I almost managed to get us hit by a bus.  Later, leaving the movie theater, I went the wront way down one of the roads leaving the parking lot.  I thought it was one-way and two lane; there was a car in front of me that got away with it.

After the movie, we headed to the grocery store for some weekend supplies.  After trying to go in through the out door, I managed to drop a bottle of gin, which promptly exploded all over the chip aisle.  Thankfully, the Meijer staff didn't make me pay for it.

On the way home from the grocery store, on the on-ramp to the expressway, I hit a giant, gaping, mouth-of-hell pothole which caused my front left tire, like the gin bottle before it, to explode.  So there I was, at 10:30 at night, in the dark, 25 degrees out and ice everywhere, changing a tire.

When I rank my life experiences, last night will rank somewhere near the bottom, along with getting caveties filled and ingrown toenails removed.
