Bush's hot air balloon. Flying around the country to help GOP candidates, the president has nothing of substance to say about the economy, the environment, or the war on terror. [Salon.com] However, that doesn't mean he didn't find a receptive audience. For the most part, I think we get the politicians we deserve. We have Dumbya and his string-pullers and -pullees because we weren't paying attention to them lining their own pockets while they started taking our rights away from us. Americans need to start paying more attention, put more work into their voting choices, or it won't be American in anything but name for very long. Of course, it doesn't help that the Democrats have entirely self-destructed and can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag, let alone fight a winning election. For all that Gray Davis sucks, in so many ways, at least he was a politician with a strategy for winning, that actually worked... 8:23:14 PM
