The Flangy News points me to this story about a would be doughnut caper. Why is it that Krispy Kreme can have such influence over would-be law abiding people? Is there something in the dough? Enquiring minds want to know!

Hewlett Heir Files Lawsuit to Overturn Merger Vote. Walter B. Hewlett took his fight to court in an effort to block the $24 billion deal with Compaq that Hewlett-Packard says it has won. By Chris Gaither. [New York Times: Technology]

Walter is putting a lot of the line. If he is right, he is correcting a wrong. If he is wrong, it is sour grapes.

Beyond the whispers, Catholic winds of change. Seattle Times Mar 29 2002 0:00AM ET [Moreover - Catholic news]

"As a priest told his congregation on Palm Sunday, we should not be a church led by the powerful and deceitful. Rather, we should be a church led by servants, destined to wash the feet and carry the cross of others."

Amen! But let's pose a question. Who says the church is supposed to be led by priests? Do you find any mention of a priesthood in the New Testament?

The truth is that Christ calls all of us to be disciples.. all of us to be leaders. The catch is that Christ's definition of leader is servant.
