Here's another Switch parody, with a message about the change from free to paid for mac.com email addresses.

Many of you will have noticed that I'm a Mac user and fan. But this particular transition was another example of Apple's occasionally lead ear for consumer reaction. What were they thinking?

According to The Register, the ISO committee will withdraw the JPEG standard if Forgent continues to pursue it licensing scheme and patent claim.

Oh great.

The only upside to this is that the patent expires in 2004. It seems to me that those with deep pockets could probably litigate this until the patent goes belly up.
