Internet fraud ravages Australia. On ABC Radio Peter Lloyd interviews the Australian Institute of Criminology's Adam Graycar about "consumer suspicion of the internet."

PETER LLOYD: As far as you can tell, is it particularly bad in Australia or is this typical of the worldwide picture?

ADAM GRAYCAR: Well the internet is a commodity that knows no boundaries and so it's very important to ensure that there are international solutions because we don't know where the messages are emanating from, we don’t know where the money ends up and so this puts a different pressure on our investigative and law enforcement framework.

In other words, I don't really have a clue (but I hope my mother hears me on the radio).

<language> elements. If you translated "Eh mate! Throw a prawn on the barbie. Boy it's a hot summer this year, what do you think?" into en-ny, would it be: "Hey buddy! Toss a shrimp on the grill. Anyways, it's freezing this time of year, ain't it?" On second thoughts, I suspect that my grasp of the New York vernacular is about as strong as Dave's Aussie-speak.
