Today was my mother's birthday. We had dinner at the Wharf Restaurant, which looks back across Sydney Harbor from Pier 4. If you don't look too closely at either the broken glass in the windows of Pier 3 or the buildings in the distance under the bridge, it's possible to imagine you are in Sydney 30, 40, or 50 years ago. Before the beauty of the city and its harbor was destroyed by greed and corruption.
