Took a long walk on Saturday. From East Broadway at the Manhattan Bridge to and across the Williamsburg Bridge through Crown Heights, Bed Sty, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and then the D Train back to Chinatown. I had noticed this before, but the cables on the Williamsburg Bridge only support the center span roadway. The shore side roadways are on columns so there is no need for the "normal" support cables from the main cable to the roadway. It looks a bit strange.
