Hot-selling Honda Civic may stir interest in hybrids

The Honda Civic Hybrid, which reached dealerships last month, is the first established mainstream vehicle to be equipped with a combination gasoline-electric power system.

I'd love to get one of these. It's not to be for a while, though I've begun actively searching out a car to replace my venerable '82 Accord. I'm picky. I want a 1994-1997 Honda Accord EX, 4-door, 5-speed. There are lots of Accords out there. There are lots of EXes. There are even more four-doors. There are very few 5-speeds. There are fewer 4-door EX 5-speeds. What can I say, though. I want to shift my own gears!

Just for the record, I'm not stuck on the EX trim line because it's the top. I'm stuck on it because it's the only one that offers anti-lock brakes standard.
