Wherein we learn of Howard's mind Lego GeekfestWe took the kids to the NWBrickCon -- a Lego extravaganza -- at the Seattle Center this afternoon. This was put on by SEALUG, the Seattle Area Lego Users Group.A guy there had constructed a model of an Issaquah-class ferry out of "between 16,000 and 50,000" Lego bricks. It was remarkable. Astonishing. They had Mindstorms robots and a huge display on a "Moonbase" theme. Geeks galore, but very fun. The kids were impressed. I'll be interested to see how this affects their Lego play. ... I ran into this item in my search for their website. A Lego storage box with multiple layers that act as finer and finer sieves: big pieces stay on the top, little pieces filter down to the bottom. $20. Great idea! Jeans and a T-Shirt: Monthly Mix for Sept 02 The August mix was a bit louder and harder than I prefer, but this month's ratchets down a notch, which makes it more listenable. I like it. I'll be buying CDs because of this. Hear that RIAA?And it includes that new Nirvana song.
