Bloody Sunday: 30 Years on and Still No Justice! By Terry Harkin From The Starry Plough Feb. 2002Well, 30 odd years and still no justice, what can you say? There is a perception that's rife in Derry 30 years on from Bloody Sunday that this new inquiry into the events of January 30th 1972 will, once and for all bring justice to the family's of the victims and closure to the people of Derry for the events that shaped at least one generation of our City's youth.

From Havana to Pyongyang Liam O RuaircRuth Dudley-Edwards once said that people in West Belfast were brainwashed like North Koreans. She probably would have been interested to know that there actually were some links between Sinn Fein and North Korea. Gerry Adams's recent visit to Cuba brought to public attention the relations existing between Sinn Fein and the Castro regime. However, much less is known about the relations between Sinn Fein and North Korea. Given the reactions to Gerry Adams' recent visit to Castro in Cuba, it is highly unlikely that Sinn Fein will organise a visit to North Korea in the near future, especially since the White House considers Pyongyang to be a "rogue state", and North Korea is high on the Pentagon's hit list. Sinn Fein cannot afford to alienate its American allies further.

Good riddance BY LAURA FRIELThe British Home Secretary's announcement that RUC/PSNI Chief Constable Ronnie Flanagan has been given a policing job in England is welcome news indeed. It is no secret that Flanagan had wanted to stay on beyond the end of this month, when his resignation comes into effect, but his personally damaging and very public clash with policing ombudsman Nuala O'Loan put paid to that.
