Big debate in Stormont as Alban Maginness demands major review of grass-cutting policy

Roads Service Chief Executive, Colin James was recently summoned before the Regional Development Committee to explain why man roads remained dangerous because of overgrown grass and weeds. He confirmed that in some areas there had been four times as many public complaints about the state of the roadsides.

James Connolly, in 1915 wrote a sarcastic article titled 'Trust Your Leaders!' In it he claimed that 'in Ireland we have ever seized upon mediocrities and made them leaders'. He could just as easily have been writing about 2002 rather than 1915. How can you trust leaders who endlessly tell you one thing and do the opposite?

Craven Act Condemned

The lowering of the Tricolour at half mast to mark the passing of a British Queen has been condemned by the Limerick branch of Republican Sinn Fein.

UDA attacks continue

The UDA-instigated violence of the last two weeks directed at nationalist communities in the Limestone and Whitewell areas of North Belfast spread to Ardoyne at the end of last week, where Catholic homes where stoned by drunken thugs.
