Driving licence or identification card ?
Tommy McKearney

On 1st January 2003 it became compulsory for all motor drivers in the Republic to have their driving licence available for inspection 'on request from a member of the Garda'. After signing the necessary order, Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan said the requirement to carry a licence "...will enhance road safety by instilling in drivers a more responsible attitude to driving generally. It will also assist the Gardai", he claimed, " in the operation of a range of road safety measures, including the penalty points system". [Fourthwrite: Driving licence or identification card ?]

Dáithí Ó Conaill Commemoration
Fergal Moore

There is no need for me to recount his many deeds or his career in the Republican Movement for these deeds are known to all of us here. Suffice to say that the name of Dáithí Ó Conaill is synonymous with Republicanism. [Saoirse: Dáithí Ó Conaill Commemoration]
