Leinster House/PSNI/RUC GAA Match Part of a Concerted Campaign
Des Dalton
The Gaelic Football match which takes place today (Tuesday June 17) at 'Kilmacud Crokes' GAA club in Dublin between Leinster House representatives and the PSNI/RUC is just another stage in a concerted campaign by the 26 County state and the British Government to normalise British Rule in Ireland, coming as it does only weeks after the 26 County Army played the British Army in a similar game at the Curragh, Co Kildare, last October the 26 County Police played a football match against the PSNIRUC

Censorship at the Irish Echo
Patrick Farrelly and Eamon Lynch
Two columnists at the Irish Echo newspaper in New York have resigned from the paper accusing its publisher of censorship. Both claim that Sinn Féin, the Irish political party led by Gerry Adams, brought pressure to bear on the Echo publisher, Sean Finlay, about the content of their columns since they were hired last year. Finlay's latest act of censorship this week produced angry letters from his own editorial staff accusing him of caving in to intimidation and betraying the newspaper's editorial independence.

Declaration action: Rejectionists cannot veto change
The internal politics of unionism cannot disguise the deep crisis in the political process. Neither should it distract attention from the failure of the two governments to fully implement the Good Friday Agreement. This was the message from Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams on Tuesday, as he formally opened the new Sinn Féin office in Omagh.

The murder regiment
Laura Friel
As locally recruited pro-British rule militias, the RUC, B Specials, UDR and RIR had at least five things in common. They were over 90% Protestant and 100% unionist in terms of personnel. They ensured continuation of the status quo by force of arms, violence and repression.

Disband the RIR
Laura Friel
This week, under pressure from the Ulster Unionist Party, British Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon dismissed speculation about the future of the RIR and claimed that no decision had been made to disband the regiment's home battalions.
