Loyalist PositionsUlster Loyalism can be an
elusive phenomenon to define in terms of political philosophy. How exactly
it differs ideologically from conventional unionism is not clear? While some
of its adherents once flirted with the idea of an independent Ulster,
Loyalism is now usually supportive of the Union, enthusiastic in its
devotion to the British monarchy and is, broadly speaking, uncritical of
British military operations overseas. [Fourthwrite: Loyalist Positions]

Pedro Albizu Campos: El Feniano Impenitente de Latinoamerica Aoife Rivera
SerranoOn the 14th
of June, Cuba celebrated the 75th anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara's
birth. Remembered by Castro as a symbol of revolutionary virtues,
sacrifice and internationalism... the bearded Argentinean continues to
be the symbol of revolutionary protest around the world, and holds a special
place in the minds of many Irish Republicans. In a 1969 interview Che's
father, Ernest Guevara Lynch, spoke of his son's revolutionary instincts:
...in my son's veins flowed the blood of the Irish rebels... The
father referred to Ireland's Lynches, one of the famous 14 Tribes of Galway.
Ireland, understandably, wants to claim Che Guevara as one of her sons. Yet
he was completely a son of Latin America by birth and predilection, and most
importantly, the revolutionary heir of the great Latin American Fenian,
Pedro Albizu Campos, a native of Puerto Rico. [The Blanket: Pedro Albizu Campos: El
Feniano Impenitente de Latinoamerica]

Huff and Puff might blow the house down Laura FrielNow let me
get this straight. In the interests of unity, Jeffrey Donaldson is to force
a split. In the interests of democracy, he is going to ignore the fact that
the UUC vote he actively sought went against him. And in the interests of
unionism, he's set on destroying the UUP? [AP/RN: Huff and
Puff might blow the house down]
