Disarray and disappointment
were precipitated after a sequence of agreed events and statements designed
to provide a positive context within which to hold the forthcoming northern
elections were inexplicably ditched by Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble
on Tuesday.[AP/RN: Deal

What's the difference? Web Mayfield
If (Provisional)
Sinn Féin says We are opposed to any use or threat of force for any
political purpose, then they must have no further use for the IRA. And if
they have no further use for the IRA, then what's the difference between
Sinn Féin and the SDLP? At least the SDLP has been consistent about what
they supposedly believe.
Well, there may be an
election on November 26th. Or maybe not.

Trial of RSF members Padraig Donoghue
The news had come in that
eight Republican Sinn Féin members had been arrested in Limerick and charged
with membership of an illegal organisation. Shots were reported, attempted
escapes and even reports of weapons being found. The members ranged from
ordinary rank and file to Ard Comhairle members, including the vice
president of the organisation. All were charged at the Special Criminal
Court with membership of an illegal organisation and all pleaded not
guilty.
PSNI cover-up of a loyalist sectarian murder attack outside Lord Mayors home
on Saturday 19 October 2003
The IRSP in
North Belfast have publicly accused the PSNI of deliberately hushing up a
sectarian murder attempt by loyalists, probably the UVF, outside the home of
the Belfast Lord Mayor Martin Morgan on Saturday afternoon.
Stormont is still Stormont - no matter how it is dressed up Ruairí Ó
Brádaigh
It seems from the
various rounds of talks taking place regarding the revival of the Stormont
assembly that yet another sell-out by the Provos is imminent. Another
quantity of arms given to them for the freedom of Ireland will, it appears,
be destroyed at the behest of the British and the unionists and the Provo
military organisation will apologise publicly for its very existence.
