Shock report on repartition...
From Saoirse by MacCool Silence from Gerry Adams and company. Silence from the Free State government. This was the reaction from so-called nationalists to the news that Britain had planned a mass ethnic cleansing of nationalists back in 1972.
Of course at a time when people like Gerry Kelly are calling on unionists to ?mediate? with loyalist gangs to avoid further attacks on nationalist areas the announcement of British plans was at a less than opportune moment. Many people were reminded that loyalists murder gangs really took off around 1972 and many people realised that Britain's attempt at ethnic cleansing went ahead 'by other means'.
A lie was exposed also. The lie that loyalist murder gangs are some sort of religiously-based and politically misguided aberration. The fact is that loyalist murder gangs carry out actions directed and indicated by British intelligence agencies. Which means that we must consider Gerry Kelly's (member of British legislative assembly) remarks very carefully.
By attempting to 'internalise' loyalist violence and ignore its roots in British intelligence Gerry is trying to divert the rest of us away from recognising a blatant truth. The truth I refer to is latent in the recent papers released by the British government 30-year rule.
Some years ago Britain stated it had no ?selfish or economic or strategic interest? in the Six Counties. These recent papers prove the truth of that statement. It is now clear that Britain's interest in the Six Counties is based almost entirely on racism and anti-Irishness at its most base and mindless level.
During 1972 northern nationalists reacted to the violent destruction of the civil rights movement by moving into the ranks of the IRA. Britain's response was not to work toward equal rights but rather to plan the destruction of a whole culture by forcibly removing 500,000 people into a small pocket of land.
That re-drawn map makes it clear that any re-partition would be based not on population figures but on the quality of the land and property values. It is clear that the intention of Britain was to force over one-third of the population of the Six Counties onto one fifth of the landmass.
It is also clear that the real intention was simply to push these people out of the Six Counties entirely as such a population in such a landmass would have found it impossible to survive.
Whatever Gerry Adams and Kelly and Ahern may dream up in the future to explain away Britain's hatred of the Irish, whatever attempts they may make to internalise and claim a sectarian base to the troubles, whatever Britain may claim its role in the Six Counties is, it is clear that nationalists would do well to remember Britain's plans from 1972.
It is also clear that the sectarian attacks throughout the past three decades are not a manifestation of some religious perversion but part of a long-standing and planned intelligence operation directed by British intelligence.
I may be a cynic but I can't help wondering why Gerry Adams and company would rather ignore that fact. Perhaps, like the Jewish Councils in the European ghettos of the 1940s they have been told that when re-location comes about an exception will be made in their case?
Whatever the reason it is clear that we have elected nationalist representatives attending [suspended] British institutions who now have a vested interest in maintaining those institutions.
They are not about to rock the boat or ask embarrassing questions. If we ever had any doubt about that it was answered when Britain released its ethnic-cleansing plans.
Hopefully (to paraphrase a Blasket islander) ?we will never see their likes again?.
