Wiki For Knowledge Management
7:24:35 PM    comment []

GlobeAlive is an experimental search service. Whereas Google attempts to return sites that match your query, this idea is to find people who can your answer questions in real time. So it combines the idea of people identifying their areas of interest with notions of "presence", as developed within Instant Messaging. Thus, it combines three areas which I have found interesting - but had never thought about bringing together into a single service! (Sounds like a lesson I should mull over).

The three areas are:

  • identifying people - Identity Management.
  • identifying areas of interest - TopicMaps, LiveTopics and RDF.
  • presence detection - Jabber.
