Some interesting links/thoughts concerning "identity".

First, a classification scheme: Andre Durand provides four tiers of identity (0-3).  I particularly like the notion of "inferred identity", although I think it misses the idea that you can be identified in an anonymous way.  Meaning, you can visit a website, be cookied, and your behaviour noted.  Thus its assigned and its not under your control.  But it also is not to an identity at one of the other levels.
